Charles Wood
Alpine District 2
Education must be a collaborative process with parents. This happens with complete transparency and high quality communication. The primary focus of the school should be providing expected outcomes for the students and helping them reach the highest level of potential possible. This means for struggling students that we get the as far as we can and hopefully help them achieve proficiency and meet grade level requirements at a minimum. For high-performing students, we should be working to find them opportunities to take their education as far as they can. At a minimum, students should receive a year's worth of growth for a year's worth of attendance. Parents should be invited into this process and be our partners in achieving these ends.
I'll work within the board, with the superintendent, and district employees to enact policies and practices that support the values I've stated. |
