My key platform issue is that school renew a commitment to assure that all students are literate. In the early grades we need to prioritize reading instruction that guarantees this for all children. For secondary schools, we need to return to the reading and analysis of whole pieces of literature and primary documents to include responsive essay writing. I am opposed to CRT and any agenda within schools that sexualizes minor children--the classroom is not an appropriate forum for either of these endeavors.
